As my trembling legs transform into leaden weights
Wandesa now stands high behind the Devil’s throne
Heaven angels cry in fire and brimstone
In dead silent grief the graveyard shall remain
Until May Day’s eve when the witch shall hunt again!

A mass of severed bodies upon the city walls
Legions marching forward as the arquebus thunder roars
The tides of battle turned as the mercenaries came near
The cannon battery burned, victory is now clear
The king stood with his army but now they are all gone
Powder smoke is fading and the monarch’s now alone
Confused after the battle, surrounded by decay
A soldier stands before him not knowing who’s his prey
Dethroned in a cage, deprived of all his power
Never had the emperor dreamed of such spoils
A new spolia opima in the same Clastidium soil

The high priest lends the knife to be sharpened by hand
In rusty infested meat hooks their victims shall be hanged
Boiled innards, festering pus
Fried vessels, a gruesome delight
Skull cut clean, the brain’s exposed
The feast is ready to be devoured
No one heard them scream across the river’s edge
And their predators now seem to enjoy that putrid stench
They drink the blood fresh as they eat up their prey
A cursed quest for blood the natives made them pay
